This week DHS announced it would close a loophole in the immigration system and publish a new rule modifying the Flores agreement, which prohibited children from being kept in detention for more than 20 days. The rule would take effect in several weeks, but there are new concerns being raised over how long families could be held in the detention facilities. Jared spoke to Jacinta Ma, Policy and Advocacy Director for the National Immigration Forum about the new rule.
Some recent economic indicators have some predicting another recession in the near future. Despite Americans’ concerns of a possible economic downturn President Trump has rejected the idea of a looming recession calling the U.S. economy “strong.” Jared discusses this and more with FOX’s White House Correspondent Jon Decker.
President Trump’s dream of having a U.S. Space Force is another step closer to taking off. Earlier this week, Vice President Mike Pence announced the Trump Administration’s new Space Command under the Defense Department will officially be up and running next week. FOX’s D.C. Correspondent Rachel Sutherland spoke with FOX’s Pentagon producer Lucas Tomlinson about the Trump Administration’s vision for the new space-focused branch.
This week Washington Governor Jay Inslee, Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) and former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper suspended their presidential campaigns for 2020. But, while they may no longer be in the race for president all three will be running for other offices in 2020. Jared spoke with Fox News politics editor Chris Stirewalt about the other important races next year.
