FOX News Radio’s National Correspondent Jared Halpern along with a team of FOX News reporters & contributors look at the week that was inside the beltway.

THIS WEEK:

It was a bipartisan win on Friday when President Trump signed the government spending bill, avoiding another partial government shutdown. The signing was followed by the president declaring a National Emergency to seek more border wall funding. FOX’s Senior Capitol Hill producer, Chad Pergram sits down with Jared to break down the negotiations.

During the National Emergency announcement in the Rose Garden, the President said he is signing the declaration to protect the country from illegal immigrants, crime and drugs brought in to the U.S through the Mexican border. FOX’s White House Correspondent Jon Decker explains what to expect moving forward.

Vice President Mike Pence urged European allies to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, during his speech at a Middle East Conference in Poland this week. The Vice President accused Britain, France and Germany of trying to dodge U.S. sanctions on Iran and called on the European Union to join the U.S. in withdrawing from the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran. FOX’s Washington Correspondent Rachel Sutherland speaks to FOX’s International Correspondent Simon Owen about the Trump Administration’s call on Europe to unite with them against Iran.

America set a new record this week and it’s not a good one. The U.S national debt reached a record 22-trillion dollars for the first time and both parties are staying relatively silent on the matter. Jared speaks with, Dr. Douglas Holtz-Eakin, President of the American Action Forum and former CBO Director about why Americans should care about the increasing deficit.
