Donté Stallworth – Starting Over

It takes more than just superb athletic ability to succeed in the NFL – it also takes study and hard work. The guest on this episode of Greta Talk had all that and more. Former wide receiver Donté Stallworth played for half a dozen NFL teams before his career ended following some injuries, and a DUI auto accident where a man died. A brief jail sentence and an NFL suspension followed, and despite comeback attempts, Stallworth’s football days were done.

But that was far from the end for Donté Stallworth. As he tells the host of On the Record, he’s now starting over. Stallworth is now an intern and a budding journalist, with high hopes for a brighter future. Using some of the same skills that helped him become an outstanding receiver, he’s working hard once again for a better future. It’s an inspiring look at someone who has put the past behind him, and is turning his life around.
