Many Americans Sharing Streaming Service Access
Americans are big on sharing… their access to paid media streaming services.
FOX News Radio’s Jane Metzler has more:
51% of U.S. households subscribe to video streaming services like HBO Go and Hulu. 46% admit they share what they pay for…
(Derene) “You have Netflix and your cousin wants to watch a movie and so you go ‘Oh, alright, you know, here’s my login and my password.’ And then sometimes that cousin goes give it to their friend and then they give it to their friend.”
And Glenn Derene with Consumer Reports says that could put subscribers at risk.
(Derene) “They have access to your viewing history. They have access to the last four numbers of your credit card.”
He says companies aren’t cracking down just yet, but at least one state, Tennessee, has made the sharing illegal.
