With century-old origins deep in South Carolina’s Lowcountry region, the Murdaugh family was known for its long-established legal dynasty within the state. On the night of June 7th, 2021, Maggie Murdaugh and her son, Paul, were found shot dead at the family’s hunting lodge. Just over a year later, Alex Murdaugh would be put on trial for the double murder of his wife and son, surfacing a web of mysterious deaths and financial crimes linked to the family.
