A unique trend is sweeping through the cosmetic surgery industry promising to make women look 10 years younger.

It’s called microneedling and it’s meant to reduce wrinkles. It’s claimed to be a less invasive alternative to botox fillers and lasers and it uses tiny needles to puncture the skin making small wounds. Collagen produce is stimulated during the healing process which results in smoother, more taut skin.

One doctor told the New York Post that people are seeking the treatment as a way to get some tightening and wrinkle reduction at the same time.

Microneedling first appeared in the 1960’s, but modern advances in technology have made the approach less painful and more popular. Sessions typically last twenty minutes and can range from $500 to $1,500 with at least three sessions recommended for the best results.

The recovery promises to be minimal while producing drastic results.
