Photos Now Allowed On White House Tours
The White House is lifting its longstanding ban on cameras and taking photos on its public tours.
FOX News Radio’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
For the first time in more than four decades, visitors touring the White House will be allowed to take photos.
First Lady Michelle Obama announced the new White House policy on Instagram…
(Michelle Obama) “If you’ve been on a White House tour, you may have seen this sign. Well, not anymore.”
The sign said no pictures or social media allowed.
While cameras are now permitted on the tours, so-called “selfie sticks” remain banned, as are cameras with lenses longer than 3 inches.
The new policy is effective immediately, and tourists visiting the White House today began snapping their photos and posting them on social media.
