U.S. Mission in Iraq: What Happens Next?
We’re learning more about the U.S. mission in Iraq and what may or may not happen next.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern reports.
Within days President Obama will make a decision on military options to rescue Iraqi refugees from Sinjar mountain…
(Rhodes) ”We don’t believe its sustainable to just have permanent airdrops to this population on the mountain.”
Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes says options include trying to establish safe passage down the mountain, or airlifts. But, U.S. forces will not be used in what’s described as a combat role.
President Obama has authorized humanitarian drops of food and water for the refugees and airstrikes against the Sunni-extremist group threatening them.
