Same-Sex Marriage On Hold In Utah
The U.S. Supreme Court has ordered that same-sex weddings must stop in Utah, for now.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern reports from Washington DC:
Utah made an emergency request last week asking Justice Sonia Sotomayor to put same-sex marriages on hold in that state– as the state’s gay marriage ban is challenged. The Justice asked the other side– same-sex couples to weigh in. That, was followed by a reply from Utah. This morning, the state got its stay.
Justice Sotomayor referring the emergency request to the full court. A one-page order says same-sex weddings must stop, at least until a Federal Appeals Court makesa ruling. A lower Federal Judge ruled Utah’s same-sex marriage ban is unconstitutional, Utah is appealing that.
