Teen Moms on the Decline

Teen birth rates in the United States are down again, according to federal health officials. Most of the decline was found in the inner cities.

    FOX’s Eben Brown reports:

The number of teenage girls giving birth, ages 15-19, dropped dramatically across the United States over the past eight years, according to new figures published by the National Center for Health Statistics.

But it is in large urban centers where the decline was most prevelent. On average, urban counties in various states saw the number of pregnant teens drop by half, compared to rural counties where it dropped by a little more than a third.

Overall, Hispanic Americans had the highest rates of teen births, regardless of living in urban or rural settings.
