NYC’s Mayor Meets with President-elect Trump

New York City’s Mayor met with the President-elect Wednesday in Manhattan.

FOX’s Tonya J. Powers has more on what they discussed:

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio met with President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower, calling it “respectful” and “candid”.

The mayor, a Liberal Democrat, says he thinks it was a good idea for Trump, a Republican, to hear what’s important to people in New York City:

(de Blasio) “For example, on an issue like stop and frisk, how getting away from that policy actually made us safer or for him to know that we have 900 Muslim NYPD members.”

The two have previously clashed, and Mayor de Blasio has had concerns with Trump’s support of aggressive policing tactics, his tax plans and any move to deport immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.
