Bear Hunting in NJ — Kansas Man Shoots Legal Gun Owner in the Leg

Another week and more things to report about involving guns.

FOX’s Eben Brown has this week’s “FOX Bullet Points”:

I’m Eben Brown.

Looking to hunt some bear? New Jersey has plenty. A special season for black bear in the Garden State just ended with nearly 550 bears taken by sportsmen and sportswomen, and that’s just using muzzleloaders and bow and arrow.

New Jersey’s Department of Environmental protection says they’ll have a firearms-only mini-season in December. Black bear have been a nuisance in many Jersey towns and the state is hoping to better control the bear population.

Dateline: Overland Park, Kansas. Next to Kansas City. 59-year-old Ricky Paul Smith grew quite agitated last week when he noticed a concealed weapon being carried by another person. A person legally carrying. It’s Kansas, where carrying is legal to many extents. But Smith decided to grab the man’s gun, stole it. Then shot the legal gun-owner in the leg. He’ll recover from his wounds. But Smith’s now in jail for aggravated assault.

And those are your Bullet Points.

I’m Eben Brown, FOX News.
