On Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh was sentenced to 27 years in prison for his financial crimes. Murdaugh pleaded guilty to 22 of the 100 counts he faced, which ranged from money laundering, fraud, tax evasion, and forgery. He is currently serving two life sentences for the 2021 murders of his wife, Maggie, and his 22-year-old son, Paul.
