Extra: Is Our Democracy In A ‘Perilous place’?
Former President Donald Trump entered a Washington, D.C. federal court this Thursday and pleaded not guilty to four criminal charges related to January 6th and his attempt to overthrow the 2020 presidential election.
Trump called it, ‘a sad day for America.’
A major presidential candidate has never before faced so many legal troubles. But despite being arraigned three times in the last four months, and another indictment from Georgia likely coming, Trump remains the clear GOP frontrunner in the 2024 presidential race.
But the question remains if Trump can maintain his lead in the polls as he navigates court dates and could even potentially go to jail before election day.
Former White House Press Secretary and FOX News Contributor Ari Fleischer joined the Rundown’s Dave Anthony earlier this week to discuss former President Trump’s legal problems and what he called ‘uncharted territory” for America.
Fleischer explained how these cases will impact the 2024 election, why the charges are only fueling Trump’s supporters, and why the uncertainty of what could happen in the coming months puts our democracy in a ‘perilous place’.
Due to time limitations, we could not include our entire conversations in the FOX News Rundown segment that ran this week. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear the complete interview with Former White House Press Secretary and FOX News Contributor Ari Fleischer and get more of his take on this past week’s historic news and why the 2024 race will be a test to America’s democracy.
