Democrats Avoided A Red Wave. What Happened?

The GOP didn’t see a substantial ‘red wave’ in this year’s historic midterm elections, as many Democrats were able to hold on to key toss-up seats — however, many Republican Governors brought home big wins in major states like Georgia and Florida. Though many high-stake races are still being determined, Republican strategist Colin Reed joins the Rundown to discuss what issues ultimately drove voters to the polls on Election Day, why the Republicans did not take an overwhelming majority like many expected, and how last night’s midterm results could impact the 2024 presidential election.
In the winter of 1981, two unidentified bodies were found brutally slain in the woods just outside of Houston, Texas. For over two decades, their identities remained a mystery — until 2021, when two genetic genealogists utilized modern DNA technology to identify them as Dean and Tina Claus, a young couple from Florida. When those close to the couple heard about the deaths, they revealed new information that added a complex layer to the murder case: Dean and Tina had a 10-month-old daughter, Holly. Podcast host and producer Cristina Corbin spent months engulfed in this mystery in hopes of finding answers and ultimately, finding Holly. Corbin joins the Rundown to discuss her new podcast “What About Holly?,” the nine-episode series that follows her through a surprise-filled investigation, interviews with those “intimately familiar” with the case, and a series of shocking revelations.
