Evening Edition: Combating Anti-Semitism On International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Today, the world marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day, commemorating the day in 1945 when the Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated. This year, the day is also being used by influential members of the Jewish community to speak out against the rise of anti-Semitism. Recently, the United Nations passed a resolution to condemn Holocaust denial. It was co-sponsored by Germany, but Iran did not approve of the measure. The event highlights how certain groups of people around the world still deny that the Holocaust took place and add to ongoing international antisemitism. Ambassador Danny Danon, Israel’s former Permanent Representative to the United Nations, discusses what world leaders can do to combat the alarming rise of anti-Semitism.
