On Tuesday, the Senate voted on a motion about whether or not they will continue the conversation of repealing and replacing of Obamacare. The vote narrowly passed 51-50 after Vice President Mike Pence cast a tiebreaking vote. Tom Shillue reacted to the vote with his guest, Juan Williams.
During The Tom Shillue Show on Tuesday, Tom was joined by Juan Williams, co-host of The Five. Tom and Juan reacted to the news that the healthcare debate will continue. While they both agreed that this was a victory for Republicans, Juan said that there is still a long way to go to achieve their ultimate goal of repealing and replacing Obamacare.
Juan disagreed with Tom over whether or not Obamacare should be replaced at all. Tom’s biggest problem with the current healthcare bill is the individual mandate. Juan agreed that the bill isn’t perfect, but he thinks it is better than anything the Republicans have produced so far. He does not have a lot of confidence in their ability to come up with something better than Obamacare.
