Alabama Fiddle Player Jeff Cook Reveals He has Parkinson’s Disease

A country star reveals he has Parkinson’s, Florida Georgia Line lead the Billboard Music Awards nominations and Nashville is coming back on this edition of “FOX Country.”

Alabama member Jeff Cook has Parkinson’s Disease. The fiddle player and vocalist said he was diagnosed four years ago, but just shared the news with fans this week. Cook says that he’ll step back from his duties with the band beginning April 29.

Nashville is set to return to CMT for its sixth season in 2018. The second half of the show’s current season will air Thursday, June 1.

Willie Nelson has a high powered roster of talent for his Outlaw Music Festival. The tour will kick off July 1 in New Orleans with Sheryl Crow. The Avett Brothers, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Bob Dylan, Jason Isbell, My Morning Jacket, and more, tickets on sale April 21.

And Florida Georgia Line lead the Billboard Music Awards country categories with six nominations. Additionally, Luke Bryan is nominated for the Billboard Chart Achievement Award, while Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line and Chris Young are all recognized for their collaborations this year.
