Mets’ Tim Tebow Makes Spring Training Debut

Baseball’s most famous minor leaguer makes his big league debut, but it might not be classified as one to remember.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:

Tim Tebow striking out twice against the Red Sox on Wednesday. He did get a chance at the plate with the bases loaded and nobody out, he grounded into a double play. A run scored, but he doesn’t get credit for an RBI because of the double play.

The former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner also was hit by a pitch, but was picked off on a line drive double play.

Despite it all, Tebow remained all smiles after the game:

(Tebow) “Been good at taking hits most of my career. That might come easier than everything else.”

Mets outfielder is expected to get some more playing time in the Grapefruit League on Friday.
