Locker Key from Titanic Goes for Big Money at Auction
A piece of history fetches big bucks at auction.
FOX’s Pam Puso has more:
A key to a locker on the Titanic has sold at a weekend auction in Western England for $85,000 pounds, that’s $104,000.
The corroded iron key belonged to a 23-year-old ship steward, one of 1500 people aboard the ship, that sank in 1912 after hitting an iceberg during its maiden voyage.
The key was sent to the steward’s pregnant widow after his body was recovered.
A few years ago, a violin believed to have been played as the ship sank, sold for more than a million pounds.
