What is Aleppo?
As he tries to make a case for appearing in the Presidential debates, Libertarian Presidential candidate Gary Johnson tripped over a question about the Syrian civil war.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
Johnson was asked on MSNBC what he would do about Aleppo, a major city in Syria that’s been a stronghold for rebels trying to topple President Bashar al-Assad:
(Johnson) “And what is Aleppo.”
(Journalist) “You’re kidding?”
(Johnson) “No.”
(Journalist) “Aleppo is in Syria.”
Johnson went on to call Syria a mess. After the interview another journalist caught up with him and he said he feels horrible about his answer and needs to get smarter, and that’s just part of the process.
Democrat Hillary Clinton weighed in, saying it’s not hard to find Aleppo on a map.
