Some Republicans Don’t Agree with Speaker Paul Ryan’s New Rules
There’s some discord in the House of Representatives. Is this a case of “forward… into the past” for the lower House? Some conservative Republicans aren’t very pleased.
FOX’s Steve Taylor reports from Washington:
House conservatives unseated Speaker John Boehner because, they say, he wouldn’t allow enough members to make changes to bills under consideration. Paul Ryan became Speaker promising open amendments.
Now Ryan is saying he wants to limit the openness. The reason is the recent failure of a spending bill because a member added a section barring LGBT discrimination in federal contracting.
Ryan claims it’s the Democrat’s fault, but it’s conservative Republicans who are complaining most bitterly about this talk of rule changes.
