Early ‘Simpsons’ Episode Predicts Donald Trump as President
Did a popular FOX TV show correctly predict the outcome of the 2016 presidential election more than a decade before it happened?
FOX’s Michelle Pollino reports:
FOX’s animated series ‘The Simpsons’ predicted the political landscape years ago, the episode which aired almost exactly 16 years ago, on March 19, 2000, predicted a Donald Trump presidency.
The outlook was not bright:
(Lisa Simpson) “As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump, we’re broke, the countries broke, how could that be?”
It was Lisa Simpson that ascended the presidential throne in an episode that had Bart forced to look into his future and more recently even before Greece’s financial crisis. An episode showed a news ticker headline stating Europe puts Greece on eBay.
