Oxford Dictionary Announces ‘Word of the Year’

The 2015 “Word of the Year” isn’t a word at all…

    FOX’s Chris Foster reports:

The Oxford Dictionaries “Word of the Year” is an emoji. The little pictures that can be sent in text and social media messages, instead of words.

There are lots of them… The one Oxford chose is a happy crying face that’s officially called “Face with Tears of Joy.”

The keyboard maker SwiftKey says it’s the “most used” emoji of the year. The trend-tracking “global language monitor” named a “Heart” emoji its word of the year in 2014.
