Some people in the Northeast are waving the flag of surrender to Mother Nature.

FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers has details:

Folks in Ithaca, New York – about 150 miles east of Buffalo – aren’t the only ones who’ve had it with winter, but they’ve taken it farther than the rest of us.

Instead of the usual “Visit Ithaca” on its website, it now features a beach with clear blue water.

(Stoff) “We surrender to winter, so we’re redirecting folks instead of going to visit Ithaca, to visit the Florida Keys.”

That’s Bruce Stoff, with the Ithaca – Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The website message goes on to say “please come back when things thaw out”.

(Stoff) “On behalf of everybody in the metro northeast, you know, 100 million, 150 million, whatever the number is, we’re done, winter – you win. Go away.”

Oh, and don’t forget to send them a postcard.
