Housecall for Health: Secrets to Aging – Part 5

Americans are living longer than ever before, with many hoping to reach that milestone of living to be 100.  So what can you do to live a full century?  Fiber may be one key.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in the final part of our special “Housecall for Health” series:

Research finds one way to live longer is to get enough fiber.  Most Americans already eat nearly 17 grams per day, but according to a Prevention Magazine report, adding just 10 more grams can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease.

Dietary fiber also lowers bad cholesterol, boosts weight loss and improves insulin sensitivity for a long and healthy life.  Tired of oatmeal?  Beans, potatoes and pears are tasty sources.
