Boxing Brawl: Headline Bout Ends With Post-Match Brawl
Derek Chisora went from being contained in a ring to being contained in a police station, after cops in Munich, Germany took the boxer into custody following a post-bout brawl.
FOX News Radio’s Chris Foster reports:
The British heavyweight Derek Chisora, detained at the Munich Airport after a brawl with the former British champ, David Haye, who was just there as a TV commentator. Chisora’s promoter Frank Warren:
(Warren) “I’m not condoning or trying to stick up for him. What happened was outrageous, and it was wrong. But he certainly did not throw the first punch.”
It happened after Chisora’s fight with Vitali Klitschko. Klitschko won, there were words during the press conference, then the punches flew. Chisora had already been fined $50,000 for slapping Klitschko during the pre-fight weigh-in.
