Hillary Clinton Gets a Phone Call from the President… So does Bernie Sanders
Following a historic night for Hillary Clinton, she received a call from President Obama, who congratulated Clinton for locking up the Democratic presidential nomination and becoming the first American woman in history to do so. President Obama also spoke with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders as well.
FOX’s Jon Decker has more from Washington:
During his call with Hillary Clinton, the President did not formally endorse his former Secretary of State. Instead, he congratulated her on “securing the delegates necessary to clinch” the Democratic nomination and Bernie Sanders told his supporters last night the President also called him:
(Sanders) “I had a very kind call from President Obama and I look forward to working with him to make sure that we move this country forward.”
At Sanders’ request, the President will meet with the Vermont Senator in the Oval Office tomorrow.
