Unpredictable Election has Economists GDP Expectations Low

The wild presidential campaign has got some economists predicting a bleak 2016.

FOX’s Jill Nado reports from Washington:

Uncertainty over the November presidential election could drag down gross domestic product growth. So says the National Association for Business Economics, which is out with a new survey of economists.

57 percent of whom say the unpredictability of the election led them to reduce their expectations on the GDP.

They’re predicting a GDP of just 1.8 percent for 2016. Earlier this year, they had been calling for the GDP to go up by 2.2 percent. A healthy growth rate is considered to be about three percent.
