An Alternative for Hearing Aids
Hearing loss is being called a growing public health problem by a group urging more help to for people to fight it.
FOX’s Chris Foster reports:
Medicare pays for hearing tests, but not hearing aids and those average around $4700 a pair.
A government advisory group suggesting that simple devices for mild hearing loss be sold over the counter for people who don’t need or can’t afford the “real” prescription ones, like glasses you get at the drugstore.
The National Academies of Sciences Engineering and Medicine report in general recommends making hearing loss treatment easier and cheaper.
