Texas Judge Says Ethan Couch will Remain in Jail for Two Years
A Texas judge tells the so-called “Affluenza Teen” he will not get out of jail any earlier than the two years he was ordered for violating his probation on four murder charges.

Texas teenager Ethan Couch was once sentenced to only probation for killing four people in a drunk-driving crash when he was 16-years-old. His lawyer argued Couch suffered from ‘affluenza’, an emotional immaturity pecular to teens of affluent families and bad parenting.
But then Couch, at age 19, and his mother fled to Mexico, a violation of that probation. The judge then ordered him spend a 180 days in jail for each of his four victims. And despite an appeal, the judge now says he’s not changing his mind. A hearing on the matter scheduled for next week has been cancelled.
