Netflix CEO Reed Hastings Launches $100-Million Philanthropic Education Fund

Another tech CEO is giving away millions.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings wants kids to have access to amazing schools, so he’s created a $100-million philanthropic fund to help make it happen.

Dubbed, ‘The Hastings Fund’, it’s already awarded the first two gifts totaling $1.5-million to the United Negro College Fund and the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley.

Hastings, the sole trustee of the fund, says he wants to partner with communities to significantly increase the number of students of color who have access to rich and holistic educational experiences.
