Mother of ‘Affluenza Teen’ Extradited from Los Angeles to Texas
The mother accused of helping her son flee to Mexico while he was on probation for killing four people in a drunk driving accident is being extradited from Los Angeles to Texas…
FOX’s Jessica Rosenthal reports:
Tonya Couch appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom briefly. She was flown to L.A. after being deported from Mexico, but she’s facing charges in Texas for hindering the apprehension of a felon… That felon is her son.
Ethan Couch, now 18-years-old, was on probation for killing four people in a drunk driving accident. He got the nickname ‘Affluenza teen’ after a defense expert used the word to describe rich or affluent people who don’t understand consequences of their actions.
Mother and son were busted in Puerto Vallarta last week, where it’s believed Couch had fled. While on probation in Texas, he was reportedly caught on a video at a party where alcohol was served, after which he skipped a meeting with his probation officer.
