Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert Has Been Hospitalized Since November

Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert has apparently been hospitalized for about six weeks after suffering a stroke…

FOX News’ Jeff Monosso has the story:

The former Republican House Speaker’s lawyer, Tom Green, confirms to FOX News that Dennis Hastert has been hospitalized since early November after suffering a stroke and other health problems, that according to Green, led to two back surgeries.

We’re told that Hastert is expected to be released from the hospital in the early part of the New Year. In October, he pled guilty in a bank fraud scheme involving a payoff over a prior misconduct stemming from Hastert’s time as a high school wrestling coach here in Illinois.

The deal means details of the apparent misconduct likely stay private. Prosecutors recommended Hastert serve no more than six months in prison when he’s sentenced in February.
