Bad Behavior Is Putting Drivers at Risk
As Americans hit the road for holiday travel….the federal government is again warning bad behavior is putting drivers at risk.
Fox News’ Jared Halpern has more from Washington:
Traffic fatalities were down last year about a 0.1%, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration finds the trend reversing this year, deaths estimated to jump about 8%…
(Rosekind) “Chronic safety issues such as drunk driving, speeding, failure to use seat belts and motorcycle helmets continue to cause a high proportion of those deaths.”
NHTSA administrator Mark Rosekind points to stubborn statistics…. A third of fatalities a result of drunk driving crashes, about half of all vehicle occupants killed were not wearing seat belts.
