Three days after resignations, driven by student protests, an interim leader named for Missouri’s university system.

Michael Middleton is stepping in to lead during a tumultuous time for the University of Missouri. He takes charge of the four-campus system as racial turmoil swirls.
(Middleton) ”We must confront many uncomfortable societal issues that once confronted will make us stronger.”
Middleton is a law professor with 30 years at Missouri. The controversy, fueled by student protests and bolstered by support from the football team, led to the ouster of leaders and sparked outcries at schools around the nation.
