Growing Field In The Race for House Speaker

    Who will replace John Boehner as Speaker of the House? The list of Republicans looking for a promotion is getting longer.

    FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern has more from Capitol Hill:

    Current GOP majority leader Kevin McCarthy is considered the front-runner, but he may not be able to win the 218 votes from colleagues to win, so Utah Republican Jason Chaffetz says several Republicans urged him to get in the race.

    (Chaffetz) “We don’t want to fight internally, but realistically, we can’t vote to promote the existing leadership.”

    Florida Republican Daniel Webster is also trying to convince colleagues to give him the gavel.

    Republicans are scheduled to vote for their favorite Thursday, though reports suggest a delay is being considered.
