An online poll suggests the majority of Americans favor resumed diplomacy with Cuba. The poll results come the day after both nations reopen embassies in each others’ capital cities for the first time in more than a half-century.

A new Associated Press poll would suggest that 71%, nearly three-quarters of Americans agree that the United States should have a diplomatic relationship with Cuba.
And that some 58% of those who responded to the online poll are in support of President Obama’s efforts to renew ties, which resulted in Monday’s re-establishing of embassies both in DC and Havana.
The poll also revealed respondents were split nearly fifty-fifty on whether or not economic sanctions, such as the embargo, should be lifted.
