NYSE Halts Trading Over Technical Issue
UPDATE: The New York Stock Exchange has resumed trading following a technical issue. There was an outage for more than three hours on Wednesday.
It was already a rough day for stocks, then the New York Stock Exchange halted trading over a technical issue.
FOX News Radio’s Gurnal Scott reports:
It’s been at a standstill since about 11:30am ET. A statement from stock exchange officials says they’re working to resolve the “internal technical issue” quickly.
Before trading stopped, U.S. indexes were lower as investors worried about China’s ability to stem a stock market slide.
The Department of Homeland Security has been looking into this glitch. They are saying that there appears to be nothing “malicious” that relates to the stoppage.
New York Stock Exchange floor trading accounts for 10% of stock activity.
