Loretta Lynch Sworn In As U.S. Attorney General
Five months after being nominated by the President, Loretta Lynch has been sworn in as the nation’s newest Attorney General.
FOX News Radio’s Jon Decker reports from Washington:
Loretta Lynch was sworn in by the Vice President at the Justice Department – becoming the first African-American woman to hold the position. Lynch, who replaces Eric Holder, previously served as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
(Lynch) “I am honored beyond words to step into this larger role today as your Attorney General as we continue the core work of our mission – the protection of the American people.”
One of Lynch’s first tasks will be repairing relationships on Capitol Hill, where Republicans had criticized Eric Holder as being overly political.
