Vaccines And Politics – A 2016 Campaign Issue? [VIDEO]
The issue of parental control and vaccines is in the spotlight for some potential 2016 presidential candidates.
FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers explains.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie says parents should have some say-so on whether to vaccinate their kids.
(Christie) “It’s much more important, I think, what you think as a parent, than what you think as a public official.”
His remarks came after a recent measles outbreak in California sickened more than a hundred people in several states and Mexico, and placed parents who choose not to vaccinate their kids under new scrutiny.
Another potential Republican White House prospect, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, said Monday he feels most vaccines should be voluntary.
Hillary Clinton, the leading Democrat contender for 2016, gave her opinion, tweeting “The science is clear: The earth is round, the sky is blue, and #vaccineswork … #GrandmothersKnowBest”.
