The U.S. Supreme Court hears a case today involving Facebook and free speech rights.

FOX News Radio’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington.

The high court will take up the case of Anthony Elonis, who’s serving a four year prison sentence for posting threats on Facebook.

He claims he was writing rap lyrics — and blowing off steam — when he threatened to kill his estranged wife and shoot up a classroom full of kindergarten children. One his posts about his wife said — quote — “There’s one way to love you, but a thousand ways to kill you”.

Elonis says his comments should be covered under the First Amendment, and he wants his conviction overturned.
