Dealing With Ebola Cleanup

How does one clean up hazardous waste including that from treatment of Ebola patients? It’s not an easy process according to one company.

FOX News Radio’s Jessica Golloher has the details:

Sal Pain is chief foreman and safety officer with Bio-Recovery Corporation, a organization that has been contracted to deal with Ebola waste. Pain says the government does not want to be held accountable for such a dangerous decontamination.

(Pain) “If they were to do it they would be held responsible, everyone is trying to shift liability on something like this. No one wants to take the liability on this.”

Pain says priority number one is safety, his workers don hazmat suits with oxygen supplied, adding…

(Pain) “Anything that could have been touched, I’m taking it out, I’m going to bring to down to a size that can fit inside an incinerator and I’m having it set on fire.”

Pain says another obstacle is trying to find a receptacle for Ebola waste as not every state is permitted to dispose of it.
