New Cockroach in New York City
New York City continues to get more crowded… More humans… more bugs.
FOX News Radio’s Hank Weinbloom explains from New York City:
Just what folks here in New York City don’t need, a new breed of cockroach, which has moved into one of the city’s new tourist attractions, the old elevated rail line that’s been turned into High Line Park. Like many residents of this city, the periplaneta japonica came from somewhere else, Asia. And like many New Yorkers, this guy is tough.
(Sinatra) “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere…”
Biologists say these roaches like it just fine outdoors, even in bitter cold weather. But will have to compete with native New York species for food and parking spaces.
