RI Pot Laws Eased
Attention pot smokers. One New England state is easing its marijuana laws.
FOX News Radio’s Kerin McCue has the details:
Rhode Island is relaxing its laws aimed at marijuana users. As of now, adults caught with an ounce or less will be hit with a $150 dollar civil fine instead of at $500 dollar penalty plus jail time. They’ll also have to appear in traffic court, but nothing will go on their criminal records. Three violations within 18 months however, will result in misdemeanor charges. Kids who get caught will have to complete some community service as well as enroll in a drug awareness program. One thing that hasn’t changed; driving while high remains a crime.
