Metal Bat Brain Injury Leads to $14.5M Settlement

A New Jersey teenager permanently injured playing youth baseball is getting millions of dollars in a legal settlement.

FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:

He was nearly killed more than six years ago by a line drive that him in the chest as Steven Domalewski was pitching in a Little League game in New Jersey.

Now 18-years-old, brain damaged and using a wheelchair, he’s won a $14.5 million settlement in a lawsuit his family filed against Little League Baseball, Louisville Slugger and the Sports Authority claiming metal bats are unsafe, hitting balls at faster speeds than wooden ones.

Domalewski went into cardiac arrest after he was hit, and his brain was without oxygen for up to 20 minutes.
