The suicide of yet another former football player has renewed the discussion over injuries in sports and the effects they can have on the brain.
FOX News Radio’s Jessica Rosenthal has more on CTE in today’s “Housecall for Health”:
As the number for former NFL players committing suicide goes up, the number of kids participating in tackle football leagues goes down. Doctors agree: repeated high impacts can result in chronic traumatic encephalopathy. At first, that affects the brain by altering mood, and can contribute to depression and violence. Later, one can experience:
