NYPD Infiltrated Liberal Groups, According to New Documents

Documents obtained by the Associated Press show that the New York Police Department has been monitoring liberal political groups and activists since September 11, 2001 as part of their counter-terrorism tactics.

The New York City Police Department documents show that undercover police officers attended liberal political groups meetings and monitored activities of anarchists as part of their counter-terrorism tactics.

One document details a meeting in April 2008 of the People’s Summit in New Orleans, a gathering of liberal groups opposed to U.S. economic policies attended by an undercover NYPD officer.

The officer, who noted group and activities in attendance, made no allegations of any criminal activity.
