Italy Ends Search for Bodies in the Costa Concordia

Rescue workers have permanently called off the underwater search of the Costa Concordia cruise ship, which ran aground off the coast of Italy on January 13.

FOX News Radio’s Alastair Wanklyn reports:

Rescue workers calling off the search because it’s more than two weeks since the ship ran aground and there’s a risk the ship’s hull might collapse on anyone still searching inside.

But they are still searching ocean nearby for sixteen people still missing.

Meanwhile local fishermen and hotel owners on Giglio Island, Italy, threatening to sue unless the wreck is removed. They fear it’ll cripple tourism income this summer.

Officials say it might take ten months to move the wreck.
