Police sources say two clueless Transportation Security Administration officials failed to notify police officers about two possible pipe bombs at a New York City airport.
FOX News Radio's Courtney Kealy has details:
The TSA agents found two pipes in a passenger's luggage on Monday at LaGuardia Airport, but failed to notify the Port Authority Bomb Squad. Instead they left the pipes, which did turn out to be harmless, on a radiator for several hours as hundreds of passengers passed by.
The TSA is required to notify authorities of any suspicious activity.
The pipes, one gold, one silver both six inches long with springs inside were supposedly for homeopathic medicine according to the passenger.
The supervisor left the pipes at the screening area from about 11:30am unitl 3pm when a bomb specialist from the TSA was called, who took another two hours to respond.
